Lately, there has been a lot going on. With the passing of a close friend, dealing with a major health issue, working to pay the bills, and life’s other ups and downs, I have had a lot of big topics to think about over the past year. I reccently had the thought that I should do something to create an outlet for so many thoughts. This is why I have created this blog. I hope that it will be a good outlet for me and a help to you. Whether you need a pick-me-up or to investigate some big topics, I hope that what I write will serve as a helpful tool.
I’m not sure why things always happen the way they do in life. I believe that having faith is a very important part of life. Faith not only gives us purpose, but satisfies our greatest need as humans: to be loved. However, one reason I decided to go ahead with this blog is to show that faith is not empty or blind. Maybe for some people it is, but I do not believe that is true faith. Faith is knowing what you believe in and having good reasons for doing so. These reasons don’t have to be empirically proven, but I bet that some of the reasons you have will be. I do believe in the Christian God and I believe that I have good reasons for that faith. I hope that in future posts I can share some of them with you and share some great resources I come across. So there you have it, a bit of a mission statement I suppose. I’m glad that today is a new day full of endless possibilities and that as of right now, something new has been born despite such a rough year.
To end I feel like this is fitting:
“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
